After the Brighton Town Hall became unavailable as a concert venue in the 1990s, the band began to use the Brighton Secondary School and other venues for concert performances.
Tom Cooper, 1995-96, became musical director in the mid 1990s. Tom, a talented arranger, contributed significantly and provided many arrangements for the band. During this period the band moved to its current home at Lipson Ave in Seacliff and soon after a junior band and concert choir were formed.

He raised the standard of the band which, for the first time in many years, competed in the State Band Championships in August 2007, coming second in Open B Grade. The band then tried again in 2008 and were successful in taking out the Open B Grade title!
